Robbers escape with two safes

Two men broke into a supported living complex at Haworth and escaped with safes containing a large amount of cash.

The raiders - who struck at the West Lane building at about 6.30am yesterday - were disturbed by a female member of staff, who was left shocked but uninjured.

Police today issued an appeal for information about the incident.

They ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen people acting suspiciously, or a vehicle, to come forward.

It is unclear how the men, who took two safes, made their getaway.

One of the suspects is described as white, of slim build, about 6ft tall, with dark stubble, bushy dark eyebrows, a prominent nose and a pointed jaw. He was wearing a black anorak-style hooded jacket, with the hood tightly pulled up around his face, and dark trousers. He spoke with a strong Yorkshire accent.

Anyone with information should contact DC Angela Harvey at Airedale and North Bradford CID on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
