Keighley man remanded on harm charge

A councillor’s son appeared via videolink at Bradford Crown Court on Monday for a case-management hearing ahead of him being tried on charges of causing grievous bodily harm and possessing an imitation firearm.

Majid Hussain, 28, is accused of breaking Zulfran Suleman’s leg and displacing his kneecap by reversing into him in Devonshire Street, Keighley. He denies the counts against him.

Judge David Smith heard requests for some testimony to be given by video link or from behind a screen. He said all evidence should be ready for the trial for November 20.

Hussain, of Devonshire Street, Keighley, son of Councillor Abid Hussain (Lab, Keighley Central), was remanded back in custody until that date.
