Fun and friendship was on the menu when a Keighley luncheon club invited Dominican elders to its Christmas lunch.

Members of the Temple Diners, based at the Temple Row Centre, and Bradford’s Dominica Association ate together and then played games like bingo and cards.

The “exchange visit” was organised with money from the Community First fund for activities in the Central Ward of Keighley.

Temple Diners member Merv Pemberton said an initial visit by a small number of association members several weeks ago proved successful, and this time 18 Dominicans joined the 19 Temple Diners.

Dominica Association co-ordinator Joseph Flerin said: “Nobody wanted to leave because we had such a lovely time. It’s one of the best days we’ve had meeting other people.”

The Diners meet every Friday for a meal in the Temple Row cafe, followed by games and socialising.
