Elderly support network is to be extended
5:00pm Sunday 23rd December 2012 in Keighley
Networks are being set up across Keighley to encourage “joined-up” thinking by organisations serving seniors.
An Older People’s Mutual Support Network is already operating in the Denholme, Cullingworth, Thornton and Queensbury area. Three new networks will be launched in the new year under the banner of the Keighley Elderly Initiatives Group.
These will cover Steeton and Silsden, the Worth Valley including Haworth and Bracken Bank, and Keighley town centre and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Each network covers a specific postcode area and membership is open to any groups, services or agencies serving older people.
The networks are co-ordinated by Julie Lintern, the old people’s development manager with Keighley and Ilkley Voluntary and Community Action.
More details are available from Julie on (01535) 612511 or julie@kivca.org.uk.
