On Tuesdays the mobile library service will be by the bus terminus on Thwaites Brow Road from 3.45-4.15pm and on Long Lee Lane, by the doctor’s surgery, from 4.20-4.50pm.
Busy Bees, a baby and toddler group, meets in St Barnabas Church hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.15-11am.
The Art Group meets in the Village Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1.30-3.30pm.There are places for beginners or people with experience. For details, contact Barbara on (01535) 669914 .It is closed for the holiday and will resume on Friday, January 4.
The 25th Keighley Long Lee Scouts meet in St Barnabas Church Hall on Thursdays. Beavers meet from 5.15-6.15pm, Cubs from 6.30-7.45pm and Scouts from 7.45-9.15pm. For further information the contact is by e-mail dc@keighleyscouts.org.uk.

Services at St Barnabas Parish Church: This Sunday, 9.15am, parish communion. There are no services at Long Lee Methodist Chapel, the members will be at a joint service at Exley Head which will be led by the Rev Alan Raine.

There will be no bingo evening at the Dickie Bird on January 1. Thursday’s quiz night with games and competitions, including Strike It Lucky, starts at 8.30pm. There is a free supper. Open on the first Sunday in the month for English breakfast from 10am-noon and every Sunday from 1pm for Sunday roast.

New at Long Lee Village Hall, Zumba fitness classes each Saturday from 9.30-10.30am.
The Out and About walking group will be walking in the Oakworth/ Newsholme area next Wednesday. Meet Barbara at Keighley bus station to catch the 717 bus at 10.20am.
On Sunday the children from the Sunday School, in costume and in a suitably decorated church, presented their nativity play. The children taking part were Mathew, Nathan and Samuel Rouse, Arabella, Clarissa and Laurence Perfect and Jamie and Isobel Gissing. The play was written and produced by Louise Rouse. The Christmas story from St Luke was read by Gwen Webster. Music for the hymns was recorded. In the evening there was a joint carol service with friends from St Barnabas Church. The organist was Brenda Wilkinson. Refreshments were served after both services. In the evening there was a united carol service with the congregation from St Barnabas Parish Church. The service was led by the Reverend Sandie Exley-Watt. Interspersed with hymns, the story of Mary being told she would be a virgin mother was told by Adrian Moore, speaking as Joseph and how he came to terms with the story. It continued as seen by the village gossips read by Joyce Samuels, Susan Keneally, Doreen Tetley, Irene Mitchell Christine Johnson and Pauline Ainley. The part of the innkeeper’s wife was read by Nola Moore. The Bible story was read by Margaret Anstey, Billy Clayton and the Rev Jonathan Pritchard. The organist was Brenda Wilkinson. The service on Christmas Day was led by Adrian Moore and David Miller who also provided music for the hymns. The Rev Jonathan Pritchard was the celebrant at the said holy communion service at St Barnabas Parish Church. He spoke about repentance being shown in compassion and not passing judgement on others. The Rev Canon Peter Hutchinson was the celebrant at the sung parish communion. Readers were Billy Clayton, Joyce Samuels and Jill Dodsworth. Rod Tickner preached on deep preparation during Advent leading to complete joy. He also administered the chalice. During the service the fourth candle on the Advent wreath was lit. Organist was Edna Huggett. On Christmas Eve there was a christingle service on the afternoon and later midnight mass.
