Finalists chosen for centre charity of year
5:00pm Saturday 29th December 2012 in Keighley
The finalists have been chosen in a contest which gives people the chance to vote for a good cause which the Airedale Shopping Centre will support in 2013.
The charities and projects have been selected from dozens of nominations sent in by members of the public in the charity of the year contest.
They are the Dignity Room at Airedale Hospital, Haworth Cat Rescue, Sue Ryder’s Manorlands hospice and Age UK Bradford and District.
People can now vote by phoning or texting in favour of one of the organisations.
To vote by phone people should call 0901151 and add to this the four digit number assigned to the good cause they would like to win.
The numbers have been assigned as follows: The Dignity Room at Airedale Hospital 0391, Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice 0392, Haworth Cat Rescue 0393 and Age UK Bradford and District 0395.
People wanting to vote by text can do so by sending a text to the number 80360. Their message should start with the word CHARITY, must then include a space, and should be followed by the four digits assigned to the good cause of their choice.
All phone and text votes have to be in by the end of Friday, January 4.
Calls cost no more than 51p per call from a BT landline. Calls from mobiles and some other networks may cost more. Texts cost 50p plus the normal operator text charge.
Rachel Cunningham, regional fundraiser for the Manorlands hospice, stressed that all donations to Sue Ryder Manorlands would be spent locally.
