Two people have appeared in court charged with wounding following an incident on Christmas Day in which a 64-year-old Keighley man received serious head injuries.

Sidney Bond was discovered collapsed on the ground in front of a block of flats in Spring Row, off South Street, at 6.20pm that day.

He remains in a critical but stable condition at Leeds General Infirmary.

Ashley Whyte, 22, of North Dean Road, Keighley, and Lee Snowden, 23, of Laburnum Road, Shipley, were arrested on Friday and charged on Sunday night with Section 18 wounding.

They appeared before Bradford and Keighley magistrates on Monday and were remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court next Monday.

Three other people – two men aged 51 and 46 and a 38-year-old woman, all from Keighley – are currently on police bail.
