On Tuesdays the Mobile Library Service will be by the bus terminus on Thwaites Brow Road from 3.45-4.15pm and on Long Lee Lane, by the doctor’s surgery, from 4.20-4.50pm.
The Busy Bees Baby and Toddler group meets in St Barnabas Church Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.15-11am.
The Art Group meets in the Village Hall on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1.30-3.30pm. There are places for beginners or people with experience. For details, contact Barbara on (01535) 669914.

There is a line dancing class for beginners at St Barnabas Church Hall on Wednesdays from 1-2.30pm. This friendly class welcomes new members.

A karaoke night takes place at the Dickie Bird on alternate Mondays and the bingo Tuesday nights is proving very popular and the cash prize money is worth winning. On Thursdays there is a quiz night with games and competitions including Strike It Lucky, starting at 8.30pm. There will be a free supper.

Thwaites Brow Post Office can now sell euros over the counter and it is now an outlet for the National Lottery and it is open every day.
You can now enjoy Zumba dancing for fitness at Long Lee Village Hall, each Saturday from 9.30-10.30am.
The Women’s Welcome Hour at Long Lee Methodist Chapel meets there next Tuesday at 2pm for a New Year party.
The committee at Long Lee Village Hall meets next Wednesday at 7pm.
There were no services at Long Lee Methodist Chapel on Sunday, the members had been invited to a joint service at Exley Head. The Rev Canon Bruce Grainger was the celebrant at the sung parish communion at St Barnabas Parish Church. He preached about Jesus growing up and said we all need to grow, year by year, in faith and service. Readers were Ian Dodsworth and Billy Clayton who also led the intercessions, Carl Pybus administered the chalice. Edna Huggeet was organist for the service.
