Model train enthusiasts had the chance to try out their Christmas presents at a special event in town.

Keighley Model Railway Club staged its festive open day on Sunday at the club rooms in Keighley Business Centre.

Virtually all the club’s layouts were operating.

“We estimated we had about 250 to 300 people there, including someone who had travelled from Wales,” said Mick McNamara, for the club.

“It has become a very popular event.”

More than £700 was raised on the day. There was a trade presence and seasonal catering was provided by Denholme Scout Group.

The club’s next event is an open weekend on March 16 and 17, at its club rooms.
