West Riding Motor Group’s Silsden dealership has been bought by the RRG Group.

The move is part of an £11 million expansion across northern England by RRG, which has also acquired three other Yorkshire dealerships from the West Riding group.

The Silsden site, which opened in 1967, is one of the oldest Toyota showrooms in the country.

Other Toyota sites bought by RRG – which plans to double the size of its business by 2015 – are in Huddersfield and Bradford, where it has also acquired a Lexus dealership.

Joint managing director Arran Bangham said: “Creating long-term business partnerships helps to grow the business, promote confidence and enhance mutual profitability.

“With this partnership we are bringing West Riding Motor Group’s successful Toyota and Lexus sites into our portfolio, which will undoubtedly increase our revenues and our success.

“With the acquisition of these successful and well-situated Yorkshire sites, we are well on our way to becoming not only the North West’s but also the North’s major player in the car industry.”

Fellow managing director Tony Cliff said: “Our new sites will benefit from increased investment, enhanced systems and processes and our group expertise steeped in 45 years of business.”
