Keighley women targeted to quit the habit
2:00pm Friday 11th January 2013 in Keighley By Keighley News reporter
Women seeking help to stop smoking can take advantage of a new venture.
Bradford and Airedale stop smoking service will be running a 12-week women’s stop smoking club, called ‘Time 4 Me’, in Braithwaite, Keighley.
The free sessions will be aimed at women who are either pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant or have pre-school children.
Participants will take part in activities such as making hand cream, learning hand massage and glass painting. These will be designed to help them relax and have fun, as well as cope with the cravings experienced when stopping smoking.
The Keighley club will operate at the Rainbow Centre, and will be run by trained stop-smoking specialists and children’s centre staff.
Sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm, starting next week. Free creche facilities will also be available.
Contact the children’s centre directly or call the stop-smoking service on (01274) 202793 for further information. They can also e-mail ss.sba@nhs.net or visit the facebook.com/bradsquitclub page.
