Bradford Council had deployed its gritters on primary routes from about 3.30am as rain and sleet turned to snow.

Traffic lights outside Asda in Keighley, at the junction of Bradford Road and Bingley Street, were out of order for a time, which caused some disruption.

Trains on the Airedale line operated as normal, but commuters were advised to plan their journeys before setting out.

Phoenix Special School in Keighley was closed for the day due to the weather. It is open as normal again today.

The cold spell is expected to last until at least the weekend.
