Police probe South Craven crimewave

Police are investigating a mini crimewave in South Craven.

At least eight incidents were reported overnight on January 4. The list included vehicle break-ins and a shed burglary.

Offenders targeted cars in Cross Hills, Farnhill and Bradley, and their haul included a silver star-shaped pendant with diamond on silver chain, matching earrings and a diamond and gold-coloured ring, engraved with the initials ‘AS’.

Also taken was a Garmin sat nav.

In Bradley, two men, thought to be in their late teens, were disturbed tampering with the boot of a Vauxhall Astra. One is described as tall and slim with tied-back hair, possibly wearing a hoody, and the second was shorter with short hair and was also wearing a hoody.

Police are also investigating a burglary at a detached garage in the grounds of a house in Garden Place, Sutton, on the same night.

Thieves stole a black Rock Lobster Team TIG SL hardtrail mountain bike. It had black XC707 disc rims, a Rockshox Reba SL front suspension fork, front and rear mudguards, a black saddlebag and SPD pedals.

And in a separate incident overnight last Wednesday, thieves targeted an unlocked car parked on the driveway of a house in Priestbank Road, Kildwick, stealing a Dyson handheld vacuum cleaner.

Anyone with information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
