Keighley woman Susan Mendoza has been appointed manager of the Merrion Centre in Leeds.

Susan, 45, who used to manage Keighley’s Airedale Shopping Centre, has been in the industry for more than 15 years. Latterly, she was at the Trinity Walk Shopping Centre in Wakefield, which she opened in May 2011.

She said it was an exciting time to be joining the Merrion Centre, with the launch of a New Front scheme, which includes nine new units.

“After the opening of Trinity Walk, I wanted a fresh challenge, so helping to deliver and launch the New Front is the perfect opportunity for me,” she added.

During her time working in Keighley, Susan chaired the town centre partnership and has held roles with the Airedale Partnership and Bronte Country Partnership.

Helen Green, associate director of Town Centre Securities PLC, which owns and manages the Merrion Centre, said: “Susan brings with her a wealth of experience.

“With her project management skills, she will be invaluable as we unveil the New Front scheme to shoppers, workers and visitors.”
