Keighley Amateurs are going up ‘n’ under with their latest panto.

Keighley Cougars players will join Aladdin on stage to help tell the tale of his wonderful lamp.

Two of the rugby league team’s players will appear in each performance of the show at Victoria Hall.

And Freddie Cougar, the team’s mascot, will join Widow Twanky and Wishee Washee for the show’s traditional singalong.

The Cougars were invited to take part by co-director Steven Clark, who plays Widow Twanky, and they will accompany his character on stage each night.

Keighley Amateurs chairman, Louise Hindle-Barton, said: “We are delighted the Cougars were willing to join in the fun. Who knows, they may get the bug and swap the rugby field for the stage!”

Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp begins on Saturday and runs until the following Saturday. Tickets can be booked at the Copy Shop in High Street, Keighley, or by calling 08456 252590.
