A Keighley surgery is in the pink.

Staff at the North Street Surgery are this week wearing pink in support of Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, which runs until Saturday.

The surgery hopes the initiative will increase the number of patients attending for screening.

Operations manager, Nick Giles, said: “Cervical cancer is largely preventable and, if caught early, survival rates are high.

“The best way to do this is by having smear tests every three years. We are urging all our female patients to be more aware of the symptoms and warning signs for cervical cancer, which include abnormal bleeding, unusual discharge and pain or discomfort during sex.”
