Keighley Campus Leeds City College to hold free taster events

Keighley Campus Leeds City College is holding a programme of vocational taster events to help young people decide which career path to follow.

‘Have a Go’ sessions will give learners a chance to try something new, meet tutors and receive advice about courses and qualifications.

Tim Jickells, 14-19 transition and projects manager, said: “These will offer young people a fantastic opportunity to find out what different subjects and trades are like before they apply or enroll onto a course.

“The sessions are very informal and fun, and will help young people make decisions about the subjects they enjoy.”

The programme will feature skills such as carpentry, welding, hair and beauty, health and social care and plumbing.

Have a Go sessions are scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday), plus April 24 and May 1, between 4pm and 6pm.
