Concerns are raised about Eastburn homes scheme bid
8:30am Saturday 26th January 2013 in Keighley
Councillors are opposing proposals to build 19 houses off Sutton Lane in Eastburn.
Steeton-with-Eastburn Parish Council members last week raised several objections to the planning application.
Jack Thompson, of Hill Top Farm, wants to build two and three-bedroom homes behind Sycamore Grove.
Grounds for objection include potential access problems. Councillors are also concerned about the density of houses on the site, the chance of new properties overlooking existing homes and lack of provision for a play area.
Some councillors also fear the site is too close to power cables.
When the plans were first revealed a fortnight ago, district councillor Adrian Naylor raised concerns new residents could add to existing pressure on local road networks.
But fellow Craven ward councillor, Andrew Mallinson, praised Mr Thompson for seeking the views of parish and district councillors before submitting his plans.
