Keighley, Silsden and Oakworth footpaths in line for repairs funding
2:00pm Saturday 26th January 2013 in Keighley
Footways in Keighley, Silsden and Oakworth have been shortlisted for potential repairs.
Keighley Area Committee will tonight decide how to spend this year’s £27,000 highways maintenance budget.
Members will decide from a shortlist of projects across Keighley constituency totalling almost £50,000. The shortlist has been drawn up following research into potential locations by committee chairman, Steve Pullen, and Bradford Council highways officers.
The list includes repairs to two footways in Oakworth – in Providence Lane from Mytholmes Lane to the old chimney, and Station Road from Dockroyd Lane to the railway crossing.
In Silsden, footways on various stretches of Howden Road could be repaired.
Money could also fund the renewal of flagstones on sections of Low Street between the Hanover Street and North Street junctions, as well as work to tackle drainage problems and flooding in Spring Gardens Mount, Keighley.
Recommended footway repairs in Keighley include Skipton Road (from Earl Street to Cliffe Castle Park gates); Arncliffe Avenue (Oakworth Road to the end) and Lynwood Court (Camborne Way to the end).
