Year six children at Glusburn School have taken on the role of teachers.
Youngsters are helping older members of the community master computer skills at weekly workshops.
Headteacher Richard Hunt said: “Many of our children are amazingly confident when it comes to technology and have excellent ICT skills.
“Workshops not only provide a service in the community but promote an inter-generational rapport between students and local residents, strengthening the school’s role in the Cross Hills and Glusburn area.”
Students already make a weekly visit to Townend Care Home at Cross Hills to read with residents.
Workshops take place in the school’s ICT suite every Wednesday between 3.45pm and 5pm, and are led by Derek Blackwell, an organiser from Age UK.
