Call to reject Oxenhope turbine bid

New plans for a 15-metre-high wind turbine in Oxenhope should be rejected, according to parish councillors.

Proposals have been submitted for Grange Farm House in Black Moor Road.

Councillors at Tuesday’s meeting of Oxenhope Parish Council referred back to earlier wind turbine applications, which were turned down due to the potential impact on the landscape.

Coun Tony Jones said Grange Farm House was in a prominent location, so any wind turbine would be very visible.

But the agent submitting the application has stated the bid would provide the property with a clean and sustainable form of electricity, using a quiet, robust and efficient turbine. It is also argued the site has been chosen to minimise visual impact or noise disturbance.

Bradford Council will make the final decision.
