Oakworth talent show competition

Children are clamouring for an Oakworth’s Got Talent competition following a successful disco at the village’s community centre.

Youngsters flocked to the microphone to sing karaoke during the disco at Holden Hall.

The event, which attracted about 90 pupils from Oakworth Primary School, was organised by Holden Hall Users Group (HHUGs).

It was the first of three major events planned for this year by HHUGs for different ages.

Bradford Council is allowing HHUGs to use Holden Hall for free on three occasions each year, as part of a partnership with the group to increase usage of the building.

Community worker, Shaun O’Hare, said the disco, run entirely by volunteers, was “fantastic”.

He added: “Hopefully, people at the events will realise the resource is there.”
