Film fans’ fright night at new volunteer-run Keighley club

Keighley Film Club will provide a fright night for moviegoers at the town’s Central Hall next month.

The volunteer-run club will host a screening of A Woman in Black starring Daniel Radcliffe.

The film tells of a young lawyer who encounters the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman.

Tom Stewart, the film club’s programme co-ordinator, said the movie should be of special interest to GCSE students because the novel was part of the English syllabus.

Mr Stewart added the film club’s first screening last month – the biopic Marley – was a success.

He said: “The refreshments and introductory talk we arranged were a great hit with the audience and will again be repeated.

“Exciting new developments are planned and details of these will be released shortly.”

A Woman in Black, certificate 12A, will be screened on March 1 at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm.

Future screenings include The Angels Share on April 5 and My Week With Marilyn on May 3.
