Keighley surgery’s support

A Keighley surgery is proving it’s all heart.

North Street Surgery is supporting National Heart Month.

The British Heart Foundation initiative, running throughout February, aims to raise awareness of heart and circulatory disease and boost funds for research, prevention and care.

Staff are taking it in turns to wear something red each, week and have decorated the surgery with red balloons. They are also displaying posters and distributing information leaflets to patients.

Nick Giles, operations manager at the North Street Surgery, said: “The main risk factors of heart disease for patients to be aware of include high cholesterol, being overweight, smoking, high blood pressure, physical inactivity, an unhealthy diet and family history.

“However, there are changes that patients can make to their lifestyles to keep their hearts healthy.”
