An advice session at a Bracken Bank community centre will be a real winter warmer.

People can drop in to receive advice on staying warm and well during the ‘Eat or Heat’ event on Monday.

Help will be available for people who cannot afford to pay their home heating bills, and they could also receive warm clothing, bedding or a food parcel.

Staff from the First Contact project, run by Carers’ Resource, will advise how best to access support from a variety of organisations, and will help complete a simple checklist to decide what support is needed.

The session, at the Sue Belcher Centre in Bracken Bank Avenue, runs from 11.30am to 12.30pm and will include a light lunch.

Call 01535 667221 or Carers’ Resource on 01274 449660 for further information.

People can also complete the checklist online at the carersresource.org/first-contact website.
