Step out for Oxenhope Manorlands hospice

Manorlands is seeking runners to take part on its behalf in the Greater Manchester Marathon.

Fundraisers at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice said the flat nature of the route, which finishes at Old Trafford, made it ideal for novices and people seeking personal best times.

Manorlands runners in the April 28 event pay a £40 registration fee, and are also asked to raise sponsorship.

Regional fundraiser, Rachel Cunning-ham, said: “This is the perfect opportunity to take part in a marathon and raise funds for Manorlands at the same time.

“We are always on hand to offer training and fundraising advice leading up to the race, if needed, and we’ll be there to provide support on the day.”

Sam Turner, who took part in the event last year for the hospice, said: “It was an amazing experience. The support was incredible.”
