Oakbank School swimmers’ superb team spirit makes a splash

Oakbank School has praised members of its team who competed in the Bradford Schools Swimming Gala.
The Shipley Pool event took place earlier this month.
Although Oakbank did not win, its 11 swimmers put in a very strong performance, enabling the school to reach second place overall. The Keighley team comprised pupils from year seven up to year 13.
An Oakbank spokesman said: “Most importantly, we won the Team Cannon, which we hadn’t won since 2003.
“The Team Cannon is a one-off relay at the end of the competition, in which schools put forward their best team consisting of one team member from each year group.”
