Bingo messages to attract a Woodhouse full house!

‘Don’t worry, be happy’ is the the message from Woodhouse youngsters to the older generation.

And they are getting creative to ensure the message gets through to seniors at their community centre.

Members of the girls’ group at the Hainworth Wood Centre are writing happy words on A4-sized boards.

They are also decorated with artwork, which will be used by members of the centre’s over-50s groups for activities such as bingo.

Centre manager Sonia Evers said the five girls, aged nine to 13, wanted to spread a little happiness and make people smile.

She added: “They’re using words like smile, be happy, have fun and welcome. It’s what they feel when they walk through the door and see their nannas and grandads.”

The girls’ group meets on a Tuesday teatime at the Woodhouse Road centre. There is also a boys’ club at the same time, and a club for boys and girls aged 13 to 19 in the evening.
