Blind taste test at Haworth beer festival event
1:00pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in Keighley
Business people are being invited to take a ‘blind’ taste test during this year’s Haworth Beer Festival.
The top tipple competition will help raise awareness of the charity poised to benefit from the three-day event.
Sight airedale, which supports blind and partially-sighted people in Keighley, will receive some of the proceeds from the event at Haworth’s Old Schoolroom.
Kath Thornton, one of the organisers, said that during the taste test, people will wear goggles that simulated the effects of being partially-sighted.
The test will be held during a corporate networking event on April 5 from noon until 5pm. Each delegate can sample four pints and food for £25.
The main beer festival opens to the public at 5pm on April 5, and continues during the next two days and evenings.
Kath said: “There will be more than 25 beers this year.
“We’ve also got more ciders this year. I’m supporting local microbreweries and some of them are doing special beers.”
The Friday features an open mic night, and DJ Pick Funky will play Northern Soul on the Saturday evening.
