Haworth arts academy opens
4:00pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in Keighley
A new performing arts academy will open in Haworth next month for children aged five to 11.
Songbirds plans to offer fun and relaxed sessions of singing, music and drama each week.
It will be led by Lee Parry, who was involved with the Wirral Academy of Performing Arts for ten years before moving to Oxenhope.
He is backed up by a team of specialist tutors, including experienced performers Lydia Leo and Natasha Smith.
Songbirds will focus on songs from shows, such as High School Musical, Shrek, Grease, Wicked and Les Miserables.
There will be Friday classes at West Lane Baptist Centre from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday classes at Haworth Community Centre from 10am to noon.
The cost of each session – which includes 30 minutes each of singing, music and drama – will be £10. Future plans include sessions for 12 to 16-year-olds.
