Survey results due for Silsden consultation

Results of a consultation last year amongst Silsden residents should be ready by the summer.

Silsden Town Council received about a thousand responses to its wide-ranging survey of residents’ needs and concerns.

A sub-committee is compiling a report, which will feature statistical information and a list of the most-raised issues.

Councillor Adrian Naylor said the findings would show members which issues should be dealt with first.

He added: “We can also look at the long-term strategic planning.”

Silsden Town Council will also decide whether the new information means there is a need to officially update the existing Parish Plan. Alternatively, the local authority could use the findings to begin work on a Neighbourhood Plan.

Coun Naylor said preparing a Neigh-bourhood Plan could prove expensive and time-consuming, but appeared to offer advantages over parish plans.
