A former Silsden motorcyclist was fatally injured when the driver of a Toyota Rav4 pulled out in front of him on the B6479 near Settle, Skipton magistrates heard.

Paul ‘Nick’ Robinson, an advanced motorist, tried to take evasive action but was unable to avoid the car being driven by 62-year-old Jill Rosalind Redgrave.

On Friday, Redgrave, from Marsh House Road in Sheffield, admitted causing death by careless driving on August 11 last year. Sentencing was adjourned until July 5. Magistrates imposed an interim driving ban.

The court heard 64-year-old Mr Robinson was originally from Silsden, but had moved to Huddersfield.

He suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where he died 20 days later.
