Engineers and product designers of the future have been invited to show off their potential at a week-long course in Keighley this month.
Fab Lab Airedale – a fabrication laboratory based in Dalton Mills – is holding its Boot Camp Design & Enterprise Challenge.
A Fab Lab spokesman said: “This is a fun and exciting course to get people’s creative juices flowing.
“The aim is to design and make a product using two or more of the processes at the Fab Lab, then present the finished idea to a panel for judging.”
Young participants, who can be aged 13 to 18, will have a chance to learn about computer-aided manufacturing, business, presentation and enterprise skills.
The challenge runs from August 19 to 23, but places are limited. Call (01535) 606703 to take part.
They will be split into three teams during the course of the Boot Camp, and each team will be partnered with an engineering mentor to help guide them through the technology.
The five-day event is free to enter and is being supported by the Keighley and Bradford-based social enterprise Aspire-i.
