Tackling immigration is more important than tackling crime, according to a survey conducted by Shipleyy MP

Tackling immigration is more important than tackling crime, according to a survey conducted by MP Philip Davies.
Mr Davies, who has been Conservative MP for the Shipley constituency – which includes Cullingworth and Denholme – since 2005, recently carried out a poll of his constituents to see what the ‘hot’ issues were. More than 600 people responded.
When given a list of ten issues and asked to name their top three priorities, the economy came out on top, with 29.2 per cent picking it as the most significant national issue that needed to be dealt with.
This was closely followed by immigration, with 28.1 per cent. Crime was a distant third at 16.3 per cent.
Mr Davies said: “These results confirm what my constituents tell me on a regular basis, week in week out – the economy and immigration need to be sorted above anything else.
“It is important politicians and government are aware of the issues most exercising people’s minds. My constituents have given a crystal-clear message, and they are crying out for a more robust immigration system.”
