Keighley restaurant officially reopens following major refurbishment
9:40am Friday 23rd August 2013 in Keighley
A Keighley restaurant has officially reopened following a major refurbishment.
Lord Mayor of Bradford, Council-lor Khadim Hussain, and Keighley MP Kris Hopkins were among the guests at a celebratory event.
Shimla Spice, in South Street, has been redecorated and the menu revamped.
“We opened 15 years ago and we like to keep improving and bring new recipes from back home,” said restaurant manager and Spice of Life Keighley News columnist, Faisal Hussain.
“The response to the refurbishment has been fantastic. We’ve had really good feedback from everyone – from our local customers and the many people who come to us from out of town.”
Shimla Spice, which has won a string of awards over the years, has just been shortlisted for two accolades in a national contest.
The business, which also has a branch in Shipley, has reached the finals of this year’s English Curry Awards. It is shortlisted in two categories – Restaurant of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign.
Mr Hussain said: “We’re delighted because it is such a big event.”
Shimla is also one of four restaurants representing Bradford district as the city bids to retain its Curry Capital title.
