‘Scrap tuition fees’ university request by Shipley MP
12:10pm Friday 30th August 2013 in Keighley
An MP is repeating his plea for the government to scrap tuition fees and pay for the most talented to study.
Shipley MP Philip Davies, whose constituency includes Cullingworth and Denholme, was one of five Conservative MPs to vote against increasing tuition fees.
He said: “Tuition fees were introduced by the last government to allow more people to go to university.
“In my opinion, too many people already go to university. I would like to see fewer go to university, but those who do to have their studies paid for.”
