People in South Craven can have their say on adult social care
5:00am Monday 23rd September 2013 in Keighley
People in South Craven are being invited to have their say on proposed changes to adult social care in North Yorkshire.
The county council is to review the eligibility criteria and is planning changes to charges people pay for community-based services.
“The changes upon which we want to consult the public are things which in an ideal world we would prefer not to have to make,” said County Councillor Clare Wood, executive member for adult social care.
“But we are obliged to live in the real world and very significant financial savings are required as the government tackles the economic deficit.”
A series of consultation events is planned, including one at Skipton on October 3. And people can visit northyorks.gov.uk/socialcareconsultation for further information about the proposals and a questionnaire.
