Denholme mother’s ‘awesome’ time making her leap of faith
4:00pm Sunday 13th October 2013 in Keighley
A Denholme woman who took part in a family skydive for charity described the experience as “awesome”.
Liz Beaumont, of Longhouse Lane, jumped from 10,000 feet along with one of her sons, her brother, nephew and niece.
Six friends of the family also took part in the skydive over Bridlington, and another of her sons did the skydive on a different day.
Mrs Beaumont, who works in Denholme Co-op, was being sponsored to raise money for the £60,000 Denholme Shared Church windows appeal. She managed to collect £800.
Mrs Beaumont said her family were raising cash to support medical research into a variety of illnesses, including cancer.
She said: “It’s hard to put into words what it was like, but I’d strongly recommend it.
“I’m grateful for all the donations I’ve been given. The church is a beautiful, listed building, which is nearly 200 years old.”
