Steeton farm home rejected
5:00pm Monday 14th October 2013 in Keighley
Bradford Council has refused plans for a farm workers’ house in Steeton claiming there is no proof an extra home is needed on the green belt farm.
The application, by G Fort, was for a new house on Brighton House Farm at Intake Lane. He claimed the building was necessary to allow workers to live on site, which was vital to the running of the farm.
But council planning officers pointed out there was already a house on site, and added: “No adequate justification has been made for a further dwelling on the premises by demonstrating the farm could not operate satisfactorily without it.”
