Bradley outlines idea for neighbourhood plan
2:20pm Saturday 19th October 2013 in Keighley
A neighbourhood plan – setting out policies on the development and use of land – could be created for Bradley.
The village’s parish council is pursuing the initiative following a well-attended public meeting.
An application for ‘neighbourhood area’ designation has now been submitted to Craven Council.
“The open meeting was held to discuss the idea of establishing a neighbourhood plan and support favoured a decision to make an application,” said Derek Booth, a member of Bradleys Both Parish Council.
Once complete, the plan would become part of the statutory framework against which planning applications are judged. It would also show how the level of growth identified in the district’s Local Plan would be met or exceeded.
People who live or work in the parish are invited to comment on the application, which can be viewed at cravendc.gov.uk/article/3110/Neighbourhood-Planning.
“This is not consultation on the plan itself – which has yet to be prepared by the parish council – but an opportunity to comment on the proposed area,” said a Craven Council spokesman.
