Cullingworth Conservative Club plans approved
7:10am Sunday 27th October 2013 in Keighley
Plans for a major facelift at Cullingworth Conservative Club have been approved.
An existing conservatory will be replaced with a larger, traditionally-built orangery.
And a patio area will also be extended and improved.
The refurbishment package at the Station Road building – which dates back to the 1800s – will also include the rebuilding of the snug entrance and bottle store.
Club secretary, Derek Holmes, said the scheme will massively enhance facilities.
“Our current conservatory is quite large – it seats about 20 – but the new orangery should be capable of accommodating about double that number,” said Mr Holmes, who has been involved with the club for nearly 30 years.
“Outside, we presently have decking but that will be replaced by a larger, stone-built patio.”
He added the club was in the process of obtaining building control approval, and tenders for the scheme would be sought.
Work is likely to start after the winter and would take about two months.
