There is bingo on Tuesdays at the Dicky Bird starting at 8pm and on Wednesdays a quiz and Strike It Lucky starting at 9pm. There is a free supper at both events Sunday lunch from 12.30pm.
The local Art Group meets in the Village Hall on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1.30-3.30pm. There are places for beginners or people with experience. For further details, contact Barbara on (01535) 669914.
On alternate Tuesdays the mobile library is by the bus terminus in Thwaites Brow Road from 3.45-4.15pm and on Long Lee Lane by the surgery from 4.20-4.50pm.
You can now do the Lottery at Thwaites Brow Post Office and also buy euros and pay utility bills.

Long Lee Shell group meets at Long Lee Methodist Chapel on Fridays at 6.30pm for ages eight to 12. For details how to join, contact Jenni Presland on 07799 030706.
On Sunday there are services at St Barnabas’ Parish Church at 9.15am, parish communion; at 11am Fun Church. There will be a service at Long Lee Methodist Chapel at 10.30am with Maurice Baren.
Thwaites Brow Brownies meet in St Barnabas’ Church Hall on Mondays from 6.15pm. For details and to add names to the waiting list, contact Sue on 211837. The 25th Keighley/Long Lee Scout group also meets there on Thursdays, Beavers meet from 5.15-6.15pm, Cubs 6.30-7.45pm and Scouts from 7.45-9.15pm. Keighley Men’s Forum meets in Keighley Playhouse on Devonshire Street today from 10am. Pam Aston will give a video talk on Peru.
On Monday Keighley/Thwaites Brow Townswomen’s Guild meets in Long Lee Methodist Chapel at 7.15pm. Mr M Kettlewell will be showing painting and drawing.
On Saturday Long Lee Cricket Club held its annual awards evening at a dinner held at Bingley and Bradford Cricket Club. The club chairman Paul Stowell outlined the achievements during the past season and appealed for more juniors to start playing for the club. He then introduced Desmond Jackson who was to present the trophies as follows: 1st team batting (474 runs) Paul Stowell. 2nd team batting (477 runs) Craig Pullen. 1st team bowling (35 wickets) Shabaz Ahmed. 2nd team bowling (28 wickets) Neil Kennedy. 1st team fielding Richard Ayrton and Haz Haider. 2nd team fielding Simon Webstar and Craig Pullen. 1st team’s players player Mark Day. 2nd team Craig Pullen. 1st team sixes John Green who also got the trophy for the second team. Century award also went to John Green. Two players played in all games during the season 1st team Dave Collins, 2nd team Simon Webster. Shabaz Ahmed and Simon Webster got the trophies for most ducks. Awards went to Derek Grainger, 1st team umpire, and scorers Danielle Pullen and Abygayle Webster. There was a joint award for clubman of the year to Mark Day and Paul Stowell.
The morning service at Long Lee Methodist Chapel was led by Anne Murgatroyd and chapel members. The opening prayers and prayers of intercession were said by Irene Mitchell. Gwen Webster entertained the children with a story with a moral and Elaine Webber and Nola Moore read the Bible lessons. Music was provided by Sylvia Fox. The Rev Dr Jonathan Pritchard was the celebrant at the said celebration of the holy communion at St Barnabas’ Parish Church and spoke about our duty to defend the defenceless in society and particularly in our own community. He was also celebrant at the later parish communion. Readers were Jill Dodsworth and Margaret Anstey. Billy Clayton preached on being faithful until Jesus returns in glory. The chalice was administered by Carl Pybus and Billy Clayton was organist for the day.
