A by-election to fill a vacant seat on Keighley Town Council has been won by the UK Independence Party candidate.
Samuel Fletcher, of Vernon Court, picked up 118 votes in yesterday's poll for Bracken Bank and Ingrow Ward.
He saw off challenges from three other candidates, who ran as independents in the by-election, which saw a turnout of only 8.50 per cent.
Barry Thorne, from Harewood Road, gained 80 votes, Andrew Spence, of Ashbourne Road, 79 votes and Denise Ryder, of Exley Mount, 61 votes.
