An annual Christmas lights display for a good cause witnessed a huge turnout for the switch-on in East Morton.
About 200 people went to see the illuminations turned on at John Crowther’s home in Green End Road on Sunday evening.
Each December, for at least six years, Mr Crowther has festooned his house with Christmas lights and invited the community to enjoy the display and make a donation.
He would like to put the latest collection towards the cost of creating a flag to represent East Morton.
He explained once it has been made, the flag will be displayed on the village green.
Commenting on the switch-on, he said: “It went really well – there were a lot more people than last year, and we raised £180 on the night. There’s still money coming in.”
He added he always puts up the lights himself, and it normally takes him about a month to complete the display.
