Haworth bar and bistro Gas-coigne’s has won permission to serve drinks to all visitors at its Main Street premises.

The family-owned business, which incorporates the Haworth Steam Brewery, applied to sell alcohol to non-diners on Thurs-day, Friday and Saturday nights at a Bradford District licensing panel meeting last week.

And the application was backed by a petition of some 350 signatures from supporters of the changes.

“We’ve ended up getting it granted and, of course, we’re very pleased,” said manager Kelly Gascoigne.

“Nothing will really change in the way we run the place or the type of people who come here. The difference is at last we’ll be able to welcome all the tourists in – especially during the Grand Depart.”

They have also decided not to bring in the changes until the start of the New Year.

“We have had lots of support, which we’re very grateful for,” said Miss Gascoigne, who runs front of house while her father, Andy, does the brewing and mum Mandy makes the food.
