Four people were taken to hospital after a car accident in Keighley town centre at Friday lunchtime.

A Toyota people carrier flipped onto its side in the incident at the junction of Oakworth Road and West Lane.

Keighley firefighters had to free a man and woman from the front seats of the vehicle.

Paramedics treated four people for minor injuries, and they were subsequently taken to either Airedale Hospital or Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Oakworth Road was blocked for a short time following the 12.45pm accident.

Watch commander Steve Moor-house, from Keighley fire station, said the two people were trapped in the vehicle by their seatbelts.

He added: “We took the seats out from the back of the people carrier, and we also took the windscreen out to get to them.”
