Staff from Currergate Nursing Home at Steeton are putting their best foot forward for Manorlands.

A 15-strong team is staging a sponsored walk along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath, between Silsden and Riddlesden.

The group hopes its efforts will raise hundreds of pounds for the hospice.

Konrad Czajka, managing director of Czajka Care Group, which owns the nursing home, said: “I am very proud of our staff for using their initiative to organise the walk and raise money for such a worthy cause. It’s heartening so many of the team are giving up their free time to take part.”

Among those walking on Saturday will be Currergate ancillary manager, Zoe Hooper.

She said they received a fantastic amount of support from residents and families, but we are keen for people in the area to find out more and join the walk.
