Outline plans to build 15 homes on a field at Meadow Lane in Cononley have been submitted to Craven District Council.
Farmer John Teal is seeking permission to build a mix of two-storey terraced and detached houses on the field, which abuts but lies just outside Cononley conservation area.
The northern and western section of the 0.643-hectare site was part of the former Pear Tree Farm.
The proposed development would be accessed by a newly adoptable cul-de-sac with a private driveway.
Councillor Lois Brown, chairman of Cononley Parish Council, said the plans needed “careful consideration” as two barns and a stable block at the former Pear Tree Farm had recently been sold off to a builder to be converted into three homes.
