A group that helps take sick, disabled and elderly people from Keighley on a pilgrimage to southern France has appealed for support.
The Massabielle Group takes parties of pilgrims to Lourdes.
Keighley resident and former deputy headteacher Sean Gilligan, who is a member of the organisation, said: “We take the pilgrims to Lourdes along with a doctor, nurses and carers.
“This year we’ll be taking ten assisted pilgrims from May 23 to May 30. We hold fundraising activities to cover our costs as we have to raise about £7,000 a year.”
People willing to donate can e-mail him at seanogilligan@gmail.com or call (01535) 603510.
Mr Gilligan added events planned to collect money for the group this year include a sponsored cycle ride along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal and a ceilidh at Branshaw Golf Club.
