People interested in having a say in how Airedale Hospital is run have been invited to one of two events designed to explain the role of hospital governors.
The first ‘Everything You Need To Know’ session takes place at Airedale on February 13, between 1pm and 2.30pm, in Room 2 of the Education Centre. It will be repeated between 5.30pm and 7pm on February 27 in the seminar room.
The events will include information on standing for a seat on the council of governors, and will give people an opportunity to ask questions and meet some of the current members.
Hospital staff will be on hand to explain how to complete a nomination form, and refreshments will be provided.
Colin Millar, chairman of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Most people become governors as they are interested in putting something back into their community.
“Their role is to make sure the non-executive directors account for the performance of the board by asking the right questions and considering reports on how the trust is working.
“They also represent the interests of the public and foundation trust members, so need to devote time to finding out what they think.”
